DUNKERQUE-PORT SENDS DELEGATION TO MOROCCO
18th november 2014

UNE DÉLÉGATION DE DUNKERQUE-PORT AU MAROC

Last week, at the start of a new import season of fruit and vegetables from Morocco, a delegation from Dunkerque-Port went to Casablanca and Agadir. Led by Executive Committee Chairman Stéphane Raison and Commercial Director Daniel Deschodt, the delegation from France’s third-largest port also attended the 12th International Fruit and Vegetable Trade Fair (SIFEL), which was held in Agadir from 13 to 16 November.

During this visit Stéphane Raison met leading Moroccan exporters and representatives of the Agence Nationale des Ports de Casablanca et Agadir. Another highlight of the trip was a meeting with Tariq Kabbage, Mayor of Agadir.

The Port of Dunkirk has enjoyed a privileged relationship with Morocco for more than 40 years: as well as the weekly services between Dunkirk and northern Morocco for north/south traffic, it has gradually gained a position as a major point of entry for fruit and vegetables produced all over the country. Alongside transhipments to Russia with the shipping company CMA CGM via the Dunkrus service (*), the Port of Dunkirk and its logistics service providers also offer highly efficient connections to the countries of central Europe, western Europe and the United Kingdom.

*Dunkrus: weekly container service to St Petersburg run by the shipping company CMA CGM (transit time from Agadir, Morocco, to St Petersburg: 10.5 days).
