LE NAVIRE DE CROISIÈRE « MV GANN » EN ESCALE À DUNKERQUE

The Norwegian cruise ship «MV GANN», 108.55 metres long and 16.52 metres broad, called at the Port of Dunkirk on Friday 3 July.

The ship arrived at Dunkirk from Le Havre to spend a day here, carrying some 150 passengers and a crew of 35. At 20.00 the «MV GANN» will leave for Stavanger in Norway, the port of departure and arrival for this cruise.

The «MV GANN» was built in 1982, and since 2007 has belonged to a private school in Stavanger which trains young students in the professions of the navy. During the academic year they live and study on board, and during the summer holidays the ship is used for cruises. Dunkirk is one port of call, but the Norwegian vessel also calls at Dover and Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

During this call the Medal of the City was awarded to the Master of the «MV GANN», Svein Ivar Olaussen, by the City’s representatives. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Dunkirk harbour authorities.
