EXTRAORDINAIRE BANANE

Dunkirk's Port Museum invites you to revisit the story of bananas in a voyage from the Caribbean to Dunkirk, the leading French port for imports of this fruit.

Through the different periods, the exhibition shows how it has been possible to export this fragile tropical fruit to the countries of northern Europe, looking at the progress of maritime transport and handling conditions.

More than just an exhibition, "Extraordinaire Banane" is a journey that follows  the route of banana shipping through ten themed modules: an original and interactive approach.

Interactive tools designed for children, photographs, films and models all shed surprising light on a fascinating topic.

Exhibition open until 19 February 2017, 10.00-12.30 and 13.30-18.00. Closed Tuesdays except during school holidays.
