In January 2020, the French government disclosed the names of twelve turnkey industrial sites with “Choose France” accreditation (sites that can host industrial activities and for which the administrative procedures concerning urban planning, rescue archaeology and the environment have been carried out in advance in order to make the sites available immediately or in the short-term for the investor). Among these sites was the Zone Grandes Industries (ZGI) development platform of Dunkerque-Port, the first port in France to be accredited. It is a great success, with nearly half of the 160 hectares in the area already marketed.

On September 23, 2021, a new list of 49 sites was revealed by the government. This time, it is the turn of the Dunkerque International Logistics platform (DLI) of Dunkerque-Port to be accredited as a “Choose France” turnkey site.

The 150-hectare site, located in the immediate vicinity of the container and ferry terminals, is dedicated to the development of logistics activities for dry or temperature-controlled goods, with excellent accessibility.

The ZGI has an interchange (Bourbourg, Gravelines exit) on the A16 / E40 motorway (Channel Tunnel - Calais - Dunkerque - Belgium (Ghent, Brussels). It connects to the A25 (Dunkerque - Lille) and A26 (Calais, Cambrai, Saint Quentin, Reims) motorways.

River transport, which also represents numerous possibilities for irrigating the hinterland via the Dunkerque-Valenciennes wide-gauge canal, will see its appeal further enhanced by direct access to the future Seine-Nord Europe Canal.

For Maurice GEORGES, Chair of the Executive Board of Dunkerque-Port: "The port of Dunkerque is delighted that a second of its development platforms has been selected by the government as a “Choose France” turnkey site. The proximity of the port infrastructures, in particular with the container and cross-Channel terminals, the logistics zones as well as the river port, will facilitate imports and exports with Europe and the international markets”.
