Jean-Frédéric Laurent has just been appointed Strategy and Development Director of Dunkerque-Port, replacing Pierre Joly on his retirement. He is 41.

An economist by profession, and a specialist in international maritime transport, Jean-Frédéric Laurent began his career as an economist with the French Shipping Federation Armateurs de France from 1993 to 1996.

He then directed the IETM (Institute of Maritime Transport Economy) within the AFT-IFTIM Group from 1996 to 1999.

In 1999 he was recruited by BRS (Barry Rogliano Salles) as Head of Research. He developed the consulting activity within the BRS Group, in particular through the takeover of the company MLTC (Maritime Logistics & Trade Consulting) in 2003, with whom he has since participated in numerous studies and projects for maritime and port development.

At Dunkerque-Port, Jean-Frédéric Laurent will lead a team of ten. His task will be to match the port's strategic plan to the dynamic of current market trends, and to promote the installation of new industrial and logistics businesses generating maritime traffic at Dunkirk.
