Fêtes de la Mer 2011

Dunkerque-Port is participating in the Festival of the Sea and Watersports (Fêtes de la Mer et du Nautisme) which will take place on 14 and 15 May around the Commercial Dock in Dunkirk.

On its stand on Quai des Hollandais, the Port will show how it is acting to protect biodiversity through its Natural Heritage Master Plan, which was recently approved by the National Council for the Protection of Nature. Between the dunes and the developed areas there are several hundred different species which can actually be observed. And children can discover the fauna and flora of the Port's territory through an interactive sensory display. After completing an exciting quiz, each budding eco-citizen will be given a mini-game and a packet of seeds to sow in the garden or outside the door to create their very own biodiversity reserve.
