LNG TERMINAL: START OF PREPARATORY WORKS
3rd june 2011

TERMINAL MÉTHANIER : DÉMARRAGE DES TRAVAUX PRÉPARATOIRES

Dunkerque-Port is currently carrying out a series of road works in preparation for the construction of the LNG terminal, which will begin as soon as the migratory bird breeding season has ended. The aim is to improve access to the Clipon area from the Dunes Lock.

The work will take place in several phases:

•    Renovation of Route de la Capitainerie Ouest over 3.5 km, between Clipon and the Dunes Lock;

•    Creation of an access control point with a parking area, near the Statoil landfall;

•    Creation of a roundabout to the north of the Dunes Lock, to replace the existing crossroads;

•    Creation of a fixed bridge, parallel to the Dunes Lock bridge.

To allow these works to be carried out and to guarantee the safety of users, Route de la Capitainerie Ouest will be closed from 6 June to 13 July. The road will then re-open to traffic until the commissioning of the security post which is scheduled for September 2011.

The other phases of the works will continue throughout the summer, and users are therefore requested to be especially vigilant near the worksites.
