DUNKERQUE PORT IN SHANGHAI

A delegation from the Port of Dunkirk, led by Commercial Director Daniel Deschodt and including Michel Delebarre, Former Minister of State, President of the Urban Community, MP and Mayor of Dunkirk, and François Soulet de Brugière, President of the French Seaports Association, visited Shanghai in early July on a prospecting mission and to present the Port's activities and latest developments.

The Dunkirk delegation was accompanied by Patrick Guermeur, General Director of ROMMEL Shipping Agency, specialist forwarding agents for Asia.

The scheduled events were a meeting with the Management of Shanghai Port, visits with partners and clients of the Port of Dunkirk (shipping companies and forwarding agents), and lastly a large-scale information meeting on 12 July attended by more than 300 people. Through this commercial mission, which illustrates the partnership between Dunkirk Urban Community and the Port for improvement of the territory, Dunkerque-Port hopes to strengthen its position in Northern Europe as a centre for trade with Asia.
