Port security

Pursuant to the provisions laid down in Chapter XI-2 of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)  and the International Shipping and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS), Dunkirk Port Authority has set up controlled access to the various port areas.

Only staff of the companies installed within the port area, their subcontractors and suppliers can obtain entry passes by applying to the Port Security Office or the Port Security Officers (ASIP).

Only persons holding a personal pass and a sticker on their vehicle(for company vehicles) are allowed to enter these areas.

The Port Police Authority (Harbour Master's Office) studies all these applications and decides whether or not to issue passes.

These cards may only be used for professional purposes within the controlled zones.
