Aged 46, Eric Lejeune has just joined Dunkerque-Port as head of the "Development and Scheduling" Department and Manager of the Sustainable Development Unit at the Planning and Environment Division.

An engineering graduate from the French School of State Public Works in 1993 (Maritime and Waterway Engineering option) and a senior executive of the French civil service (Public Works Divisional Engineer) since 2005, Eric Lejeune began his career in the Maritime Department of the ports of Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais (from 1995 to 1998).

He then occupied several posts in the field of infrastructure:

• at the Nord and Pas de Calais Navigation Department (1998 to 2001), he was manager of the regional navigation subdivision of Saint-Omer;

• at the Marne Regional Department of Public Works (2001 to 2005), he was in charge of a surveying and road works unit;

• he returned to the Nord-Pas de Calais Navigation Department (2005 to 2011), to oversee all the modernisation works on the waterway network, and in particular the raising of bridges over the wide-gauge canal;

• from 2011 to 2015 he moved to the rail sector, heading up the Investment Projects Department in the Nord-Pas de Calais / Picardy Regional Directorate of French Railways RFF (now SNCF Réseau);

• From April 2015 onwards he was Assistant Director of the Infrastructures Design and Management Department at the Nord Picardy Regional Directorate of CEREMA (Centre for Study and Expertise on Environmental Risks, Mobility and Development).
At Dunkerque-Port, Eric Lejeune will report directly to the Planning and Environment Division. As Head of the Development and Scheduling Department and Manager of the Sustainable Development Unit, his task is to ensure consistency between the growth of commercial activities and a medium- and long-term vision of the port's development in a planning-focused approach, as well as to optimise investments in the port by public funding partners.
