On Monday 26 January 2015 Stéphane Raison, Chief Executive Officer of Dunkerque-Port, and Philippe Bertonèche, Chairman of the Seafarers’ Welfare Council of the Port of Dunkirk, signed a Partnership Charter for the welfare of seafarers.
On 25 April 2014, following the implementation of the European directive for a drastic reduction in sulphur emissions from ships, particularly in the Channel and North Sea area, and with the forthcoming opening of the LNG Terminal, Dunkerque-Port issued a Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI) for the setup of a marine bunkering and on-land supply chain of small-scale LNG from the port of Dunkirk.
Dunkerque-Port has produced its strategic plan for the 2014-2018 period. This major document sets out the main guidelines and the procedure for implementation of the Port’s development policy over 5 years, following on from the first strategic plan of 2009-2013 and its financial trajectory. It also prepares the future for longer-term projects.
This strategic plan was approved unanimously by the Development Board on 12 September 2014, and then by the Board of Trustees on 21 November 2014. In line with the national ports strategy, the Port of Dunkirk has four major ambitions: to be a Northern French Port, a Gateway Port, a Sustainable Port and a Partner Port.
Last week, at the start of a new import season of fruit and vegetables from Morocco, a delegation from Dunkerque-Port went to Casablanca and Agadir. Led by Executive Committee Chairman Stéphane Raison and Commercial Director Daniel Deschodt, the delegation from France’s third-largest port also attended the 12th International Fruit and Vegetable Trade Fair (SIFEL), which was held in Agadir from 13 to 16 November.
